Sallie Cowart Brock, daughter of Director J. L. Cowart, wanted a record of the history, growth, and accomplishments of the Athens Band for future generations. This is that record. As an avid supporter of instrumental music, she continues to play French horn today in the Montgomery area. Sallie is married to Macon Brock, Sr., also formerly of Athens. They live in Wetumpka, Alabama.
